History

Pumakawa is an enterprise in Villa Rumipal in the province of Córdoba, Argentina, which began as El Eden Flora and Fauna. The ferocity of the forest fires of 2009 destroyed so much that subsequently it changed. With a more sustainable area and with new objectives it arose from the ashes with a greater fighting spirit.
Now as Pumakawa opens its gates at the same place at Route 5, Kilometre 103 in Calamuchita, it continues with its objective of environmental conservation just as 20 years ago.
The word Pumakawa means “one who cares with the vigilance of the puma”, the native mammal of America which is the symbol of the non-profit making organisation which runs the enterprise.
