EDUCATIONAL EXCURSIONS

OPEN AIR CLASSROOM is Pumakawa’s educational programme. Its activities were declared to be of provincial interest by the Ministry of Education of the Province of Córdoba (Decree 2016). This programme is based on educational, artistic, recreational and sporting tasks which allow the development of values related to nature.

Activities are developed to systematize the knowledge acquired in the classroom and the implementation of projects related especially to preservation and a sustainable way of life.

The instructors in the OPEN AIR CLASSROOM programme are qualified in languages and education.

You can choose the subject matter to develop (farming, animal feeding, recycling, seeds, etc.)

We will get to know various species of wild animals, including their stories. You will recognise native plants during the tour. We talk about where each species comes from, the importance of the native species of flora and fauna of a region; about native and exotic species; the problems of the pet trade in wild animals, etc.

MODALITIES

The activities of the OPEN AIR CLASSROOM take place in one day workshops. They are developed in Spanish language.

One day workshop

The guided tour lasts approximately an hour and thirty minutes and takes place on foot. We meet all the animals of varying wild species; we learn their stories. You will recognise native plants during the tour. We talk about where each species comes from, the importance of the native species of flora and fauna of a region; about native and exotic species; the problems of the pet trade in wild animals, etc.

WHY IS THE WORKSHOP DISTINGUISHED?
The important primate expert Jane Goodall recently recognised our institution as one of the places in the Tapestry of Hope which she presented in the world environmental conference in Paris. Thanks to our work with Roots and Shoots, we have been considered a place that can represent a little more hope for the environmental future of the world.
